Warning as temps set to soar past 40C in parts of WA

A scorching hot air mass is expected to push the mercury above 40C across four Australian states next week.
Next week’s blast is being driven by a heat trough developing over Western Australia, before moving across southern, central and southeastern Australia next week.
Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria and New South Wales can all expect temperatures of about 40C, with some models suggesting the temperature could reach as high as 45C-48C in some parts.
