WA to finally get digital driver’s licences after long wait

WA will finally catch up to the rest of the country and begin taking steps to implement a digital driver’s licence, nearly a decade after the tech was was first used in the country.
The digital ID is set to be rolled out through a pilot program beginning midway through 2027, with full implementation set for the end of the year.
It is envisioned the ID will be available through either the ServiceWA app or through phone wallets like Apple Pay and Google Wallet.
