Volunteers bring iconic WA festival ‘back from the dead’

The Festival of Busselton will return for its 61st year after volunteers worked hard to save the annual event from coming to an end.
President Heather Hunt said the Festival of Busselton, which started in 1964, was close to ending in its 60th year, as funds had run dry and new volunteers were needed.
“I myself have young kids, so we like to attend these events,” she said.
“It just seemed really sad as lives got busier and people are all having to work more that we’ve let some lovely community events go.”
