Trumpeter to bring night of New York jazz to Claremont

Perth-born musician Jack Sirett is returning to his classical roots this month with a birthday bash concert in the community that helped give him his start.

Sirett grew up in the western suburbs and his love for music began when he first picked up the trumpet in primary school. He found his calling after a school tour to New York.

“I was 16 at the time and I just remember thinking ‘that just looks like such a cool life. I’d love to be able to do half the things that these people are doing’,” he recalled.
