Star suing Rebel scored $430k deal: court

By Clareese Packer

An up-and-coming actor scored a $430,000 record deal after Rebel Wilson accused her of walking back a sexual harassment complaint to propel her career, a publicist who looks after pop star Britney Spears has told a court.

Ms Wilson is being sued by Australian actor Charlotte MacInnes, her co-star in her directorial debut The Deb.

The legal battle was sparked after Ms Wilson made a series of social media posts that allegedly implied the younger actor walked back a sexual harassment complaint against one of the film’s producers, Amanda Ghost.

Ms MacInnes’ publicist Shoshanna Stone — who also looks after music royalty Britney Spears and Shakira — says the rising star secured a $US310,000 ($430,000) record deal around September last year.
