Stafford wins MVP, Patriots, Seahawks also claim awards

Matthew Stafford has been named the NFL’s Most Valuable Player, edging past Super Bowl-bound quarterback Drake Maye in one of the closest votes in decades.
At the league’s honours night ahead of the “Big Game’‘ on Monday (AEDT), the Los Angeles Rams quarterback received 24 of 50 first-place votes, with Maye collecting 23.
It’s the tightest MVP race since 2003 when Peyton Manning and Steve McNair shared the award.
