A trial of equipment and locker hire will end at Scarborough Beach despite being one of Perth’s most popular beaches.
To make trips easier for beachgoers, hireable gear such as beach umbrellas, sun lounges, recreational equipment and secure lockers had been made available through private operators as part of a two-year trial by the City of Stirling.
The trial began in December 2023 but due to low patronage the beach equipment hire was withdrawn in September 2024. The locker service continued until June 2025.
The city pulled the plug after both operators reported it was not commercially viable.
