Refreshed Fowler ready to unleash on her unfrozen knees

Matildas star Mary Fowler has credited the Australian heat for helping defrost her “frozen” knees, adding her time out of the game through injury was a break she needed.
Fowler looms as a key plank in Australia’s bid to win the Women’s Asian Cup for the first time since 2010, with the Matildas’ campaign beginning against the Philippines at Optus Stadium on Sunday.
There were grave fears Fowler would miss the showpiece home tournament when she tore her anterior cruciate ligament in her right knee while playing for Manchester City in April last year.
But after spending nine-and-a-half months on the sidelines, Fowler made her return as a 75th-minute substitute in a 5-1 FA Cup win over Chelsea in early February.
