Perth to swelter in near 40C as heatwave grips parts of WA

Parts of WA are set to swelter through an unrelenting heatwave this week.
People in the Gascoyne are urged to brace for scorching heat, with temperatures tipped to reach mid-forties as of Tuesday.
The Bureau of Meteorology issued a heatwave warning at 1.03pm on Monday, outlining the conditions to come for the north-western pocket.
The blistering conditions will trickle down to the Perth metro area, where temperatures are expected to reach near 40C in the latter half of the week.
