Matildas drop 'keeper hint as star firms for return

Joe Montemurro has hinted he may keep Mackenzie Arnold on ice as he looks set to rotate his Matildas squad for their Women’s Asian Cup clash with Iran.
At Wednesday’s pre-match press conference, the Matildas coach also indicated midfielder Kyra Cooney-Cross was a chance to feature on the Gold Coast on Thursday where Australia can secure qualification to the knockout stages with a win.
Arnold did not take the field in the tournament opening 1-0 victory over the Philippines on Sunday with her calf complaint becoming the latest setback to hit Australia’s goalkeeping stocks.
