‘Infested’ Aussie brand’s parcel sparks biosecurity fears

A Peppermayo shopper has been left horrified after opening an online order to find it was “infested” with insects.

New Zealander Jayd Graham had already unboxed two of three garments she ordered from the popular Aussie fashion brand when she made the nauseating discovery. 

“I take the package to my room and open the first dress... open the second dress...then I just start seeing ants everywhere on my bed,” she said in a TikTok. “Then this is what I found, ant eggs, maggot eggs, I don’t know what the f..k that is, anyway I literally run outside chuck it on the ground.

In a statement provided to PerthNow, Bio Security New Zealand Incursion Investigation Manager Carolyn Bleach confirmed the package had been investigated.

“Biosecurity New Zealand collected a single package of clothing after a notification from an Auckland resident last week. The package contained the ant Iridomyrmex suchieri, which is already present in NZ and does not pose any risk.
