Ex-Eagles star ‘broken’ over collapse of marriage, leaves WA

Former West Coast star Drew Petrie says he was left “broken” after the collapse of his marriage forced him to rebuild his life and return home to Victoria.

Petrie, who played a season with the Eagles in 2017 after moving from North Melbourne where he was a club legend after 332 games, has spoken publicly for the first time about the personal turmoil that ended his nine-year stint in Perth.

He had been working in off-field roles at the Eagles following his retirement, including academy high performance coach and wellbeing and development manager.

But his private life unravelled in 2025 when his separation from Nicole became the subject of social media rumours.He subsequently left the club and moved back to Melbourne. The pair share three children — Jack, Abby and Ruby.
