Anna Wintour steps down as American Vogue editor

Anna Wintour is set to step down as editor-in-chief of Vogue’s American edition, bringing an end to her nearly 40-year reign at the helm of the iconic fashion publication.

Throughout her 37-year tenure, Wintour not only oversaw the daily operations of the magazine but also cemented her status as a global cultural force.

She forged close ties with the world’s most influential fashion houses, championed emerging designers, and became a fixture in the front row of runways from New York to Paris, always behind her signature sunglasses.

Her formidable presence even helped inspire Meryl Streep’s portrayal in The Devil Wears Prada and, perhaps most famously, she transformed the Met Gala into fashion’s most unmissable night.
