The State Government has announced it is allocating $68.4 million in the 2026-27 State Budget for a new Alkimos North Senior High School, as part of a four-year $2.1 billion education investment revealed on Monday.

The funding will go towards land and early works to support the development of the high school, which will be required to meet growing student demand in Alkimos.

As one of Perth’s most rapidly growing localities, the suburb’s population increased from 6269 in 2016 to 10,203 in 2021 and is now estimated to be more than 18,000.
